Colon cleansing and my next product

It’s been about a month since I’ve used Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil and I really feel that I need to try another product in order to really compare them. The last product I tested, The Original Colon Cleanse didn’t have the same effect or feel of Dr. Natura’s Colonix so I’ve decided to go on the hunt for something new to try out.

Stay tuned to see what I try next….

Dr. Natura’s Colonix vs. The Original Colon Cleanse

One of the readers here requested a photo of what The Original Colon Cleanse looked like. So I decided to take a few photos so you can see the difference between the two products.

Here’s a close-up photo of The Original Colon Cleanse actual product.

The original colon cleanse closeup

No those are NOT magots or worms. That’s what nutritionalist call Pure Psyllium husk fiber. From the looks of it, there isn’t anything else in there BUT Pure Psyllium husk fiber!

Now for the real comparison:

Here’s a close-up photo of Dr. Natura’s Colonix actual product.

Dr. Natura’s Colonix Closeup

See how much finer the grain of the product is in Dr. Natura’s Colonix? This fine grain makes it easier to take in the product as compared to The Original Colon Cleanse product. The Dr. Natura’s Colonix mixes well in juices and has a very light taste so it doesn’t overpower the taste of your drink. On the other hand The Original Colon Cleanse is very coarse and has a very fibery taste to it. Also it doesn’t mix into drinks very well.

Dr. Natura’s Colonix includes more than just Psyllium Husk, but it also includes a proprietary blend of cleansing herbs that really seem to work a lot better than The Original Colon Cleanse.

The bottom line is this: If you are looking for a product with just Pure Psyllium Husk, the The Original Colon Cleanse is your best bet. If you’re looking for a product with some added benefits besides being able to clean your colon with Psyllium husk, give Dr. Natura’s Colonix a try.

Thumbs Down on The Original Colon Cleanse

thumbs downOkay so I’ve been on this product for about a week and a half now and I have to say that I’m not enjoying The Original Colon Cleanse as much as Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil. Although the product provides you lots of fiber as well as the benefit of being a digestive aid, I’ve found that there are just too many downsides to the product.

I realize that taking ANY dietary fiber product is a chore… I’ll have to constantly remember to take your daily fiber, no matter what brand I choose. But The Original Colon Cleanse makes me work very hard in order to get my fiber to cleanse my colon. Taking The Original Colon Cleanse three times a day is a chore and one that I didn’t really appreciate doing each day. It’s difficult to carry around a baggie full of the Original Colon Cleanse, much less ingest a heaping tablespoon of the product!

Not only that, but I find the product to be too coarse. It doesn’t mix well into drinks but perhaps it’s not SUPPOSED to be mixed into drinks. I believe most people will find that swallowing this product whole (without mixing it) will be very difficult and something they won’t look forward to. The Original Colon cleanse cannot even compare to Dr. Natura’s Colonix which was so easy to take, just once a day and it also mixed easily into my drinks since it was a fine powder.

I’ve read that Dr. Natura’s Colonix gives more of an energy boost as well because it has other herbs blended into it while the Original Colon cleanse is just pure psylium husk. Perhaps this is why my energy level has been lower this last few days?

So I’ve decided to give the product a thumbs down, not because it didn’t work, but because taking it was just too difficult.

Does Health Plus Inc’s Original Colon Cleanse Work?

Well this is day two of  Health Plus Inc’s Original Colon Cleanse and I’m not sure if it’s as effective as Dr. Natura’s Colonix. For starters, it’s a pain to take Colon Cleanse three times a day. I’m having to carry a bag of the product with me when I go out to eat. Secondly, it’s not as fine as the Dr. Natura’s Colonix so it doesn’t really mix into my fruit drinks well.

I have found that mixing it into a thick drink like a Tomato drink like V8 helps. Watery drinks don’t work to well with this product. I believe they’d actually want you to grab a tablespoon and swallow it down with water. I attempted to do this and almost choked this morning… so I tried to mix it into a drink.

I had the runs all day long but I’m not sure if it’s the Health Plus Inc’s Original Colon Cleanse or something else upsetting my stomach. I’ll give it a few more days to see if it works.

Testing a new product: Health Plus Inc – The Original Colon Cleanse

Health Plus Inc. - The Original Colon CleanseYesterday I started taking a new and different colon cleansing product called Health Plus Inc. The Original Colon Cleanse. The product comes in a container similar to Dr. Natura’s Colonix. It’s low fat, no cholesterol, no sodium, and low calories. It’s recommended for low carb diets and diabetic and cholesterol management. Made of 100% pure psyllium husk I decided to test this product out and see how it measures up against Dr. Natura’s Colonix.

The first thing I noticed about the Health Plus Inc. The Original Colon Cleanse is that the actual consistency of the  is quite different than Dr. Natura’s Colonix. While Dr. Natura’s Colon Cleanse was a grainy, powdery substance that seemed to be like a mix in protein drink, The Original Colon Clease is more like ground up flaky pieces of wheat or fibre. Not very coarse but still its not as fine as Dr. Natura’s Colon Cleanse.

Following the directions I took The Original Colon Cleanse with water. One heaping tablespoon is what is indicated. Take this three times daily. Instead of mixing The Original Colon Cleanse into the water, I put the heaping tablespoon of the product into my mouth and then drank it down with the water. It had no real flavor that I could notice and it wasn’t all that hard for me. My wife who is also taking this with me says it’s difficult for her to swallow so she decided to mix it into some fruit juice.

My biggest surprise was how much of The Original Colon Cleanse I had to take each day. I need to take 7 grams or one heaping tablespoon of this product three times a day! This seems like three times as much product than Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil tablets.

Th jury is out on this product. I’ll keep you posted on how The Original Colon Cleanse is and if it’s as effective as Dr. Natura’s Colonix.

Comparison of Dr. Natura’s Colonix to other products

So what if you can’t find a way to purchase Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil? Are there alternatives to Colonix? Are there better products than Dr. Natura’s Colonix? Well, let’s take a look at what’s out there.

The other night I purchased some Super Colon Cleanse. This product has either a pill form or a powder/small flakey form that comes in a large bottle. My wife tried it out and I’ll report back on how this product works for her.

There are a lot of other colon cleansing products. Just note that we haven’t tried any of these products yet. Some colon cleansing product listed won’t work as well as Colonix so your milage may vary. Some products are: Colpurin, Almighty Cleanse, Regulux, Dual Action Cleanse, Intra Cleanse,  Oxy Powder, Ultimate Colon Cleanse, Cleanse Smart, Ultimate Colon Cleanse kit, Internal Flush, 7 Day Miracle Cleanse, ColonDTX, Detoxatrim, Detox 7, Colon Flow, Puranol, Triple Cleanse, Colon Clenz.

I’ll go and research some of these and see how they compare to Dr. Natura’s Colonix.

By the way, I finished my last serving of Dr. Natura’s Colonix and I have to say that it really helped me.

Can Dr. Natura’s Colonix help my Diverticulitis?

Here’s a secret: I suffer from diverticulitis. What is diverticulitis? In the intestestines, there are small pouches that develop and bulge outward especially in the colon. They are called diverticulum. When the pouches become infected or inflamed the condition is called diverticulitis. This is usually caused by pressure in the colon usually because of constipation.

The way I avoid having this problem is by avoiding small seeds and nuts such as popcorn, suiinflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds too. This is because these type of foods can block or irritate the diverticula in the colon.

So what does this have to do with Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil? Well for one thing, the treatment for diverticulitis is a  increasing the amount of fiber in your diet. Increasing the amount of fiber can reduce symptoms of diverticulosis and prevent complications such as diverticulitis. By taking in more fiber, you’ll keep your stools soft and it lowers the pressure inside your colon so that the bowels can move through easily. The American Dietetic Association recommends at least 20 to 35 grams of fiber each day. Well Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil program has that and more!

Taking Colonix has helped me put the right amount of fiber in by diet and helped aleve the symptoms of diverticulitis.

Do You Need to Cleanse Your Colon?

Yesterday I was asked by one of my relatives who saw that I had been taking Dr. Natura’s Colonix, “Do I really need to cleanse my colon?” My knee jerk reaction was to say yes. But since I didn’t want to give her wrong information, I decided to research it a little. I’ll share my findings with you today and tell you WHY you should cleanse your colon.

healthy food

From some reading and research I’ve found:

  • The average person uses only 10% of nutrients found in their food.
  • Lifestyle, diet and environment changes over the years has put a strain on our digestive systems.
  • When our colon is dirty or covered with plaque, its hard for it to absorb the nutrients in food and carry it to our blood stream.
  • By cleaning our colon we can assimilate more of the nutrients in our food
  • After a colon cleansing, some people find that they can eat 1/3 or even a 1/2 of what they used to eat and still feel more energized than previous.
  • Cleansing the colon clears out old layers of pollution, waste and even toxic pesticides and pollutants!
  • Most Americans don’t eat enough fiber. Combine this with processed and refined foods that are high in fat and loaded with preservatives you have a the makings of constipation.
  • Cleansing the colon helps to alleviate constipation making food easier to digest.
  • Regular colon cleansing helps unblock the colon and removes undigestive wastes.
  • Colon cleansing is usually overlooked when attempting to lose weight.

Bottom line seems to be that cleansing your colon is good for you and your body and could even help you lose weight and increase your energy levels!

Does Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil forumula actually work?

go for a runWell this is my last few days on Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil. It’s been an interesting ride trying out this product that is said to cure constipation, IBS, severe gas and bloating, weight gain, chronic fatigue, acid reflux, parasites, stomach pain, diverticulitis, skin and hair problems and many other common ailments.

I must admit that when I first picked up this product that I was very skeptical about it and it’s claims. While I’m not sure it helps all of the symptoms, I can say that it has helped me stay regular with my bowel movements and helped me with severe gas and bloating. My bowel movements were always an off and on, hit or miss deal. Somedays everything would be fine and other days my stools would be loose or runny. Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil pills helped reduce this a whole lot for me.

I still think a balanced diet and exercise should be done on a daily basis. Staying healthy and fit will help you the most… taking this product as a supplement is kinda the icing on the cake. The Dr. Natura products do help with my energy levels and I’ve since started running again and attempting to do some weight loss by eating healthy and getting much more active. Weight loss is sometimes impacted by how your bowels are doing and Dr. Natura’s Colonix and paranil have helped a bit in this area. Your milage may vary but I feel it did help me in this area. So +2 for Dr. Natura’s products.

What I’ve notice since using Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil

Pull my finger…Well my month of using Dr. Natura’s Colonix and Paranil is almost over. Yes, the packaging says to use the product for 2 – 3 months but today I want to discuss one of the things I’ve noticed since I’ve started taking Colonix and Paranil.

I think one of the most interesting things that has happened since going on the Dr. Natura products is that I have fewer instances of flatulence, gas and bloating. I didn’t notice it until I was thinking about it today. I used to get quite gassy after just about every meal. So much so that it was uncomfortable. My regular jeans became tight fitting for a while and I’d have to run off to let the gas out. Lately though, after being on Colonix and Paranil, the flatulence and gas hasn’t been as bad as it used to be. No, I still have gas on occasion, but it isn’t as frequent as it used to be. I used to take Tums or Rolaids or some other antacids and even some anti-gas medications to help me out.

So perhaps a higher fiber diet can help you if you are have flatulence or are constantly gassy.
